What we do
Club activities--riding, networking and more
Weekend camping trips and day rides
Weekend (or more) camping trips--monthly during riding season--at campgrounds throughout Indiana, such as O'Bannon Woods, Hoosier Natinal Forest, Brown County and many more locations.
Monthly scheduled day rides at nearby parks--Tippecanoe River, Salamonie Reservoir or State Forest, Frances Slocum, Wildcat Creek Park (private), and more. Plus, lots of last minute day rides when we can't resist good riding weather. Watch Facebook for details!
Camp Host, assigned for each BSC ride, communicates details such as camping availability, organized dinners and central campfires.
Meetings and social get-togethers
The club meets on the second Wednesdays of March, June, August, and November at 7 p.m. in the Battle Ground Methodist Church, 201 Tipton Street, Battle Ground, Indiana. Guests are always welcome to join us!
Get-togethers are scheduled throughout the year, but always at Thanksgiving and during the holiday season.
4-H Sponsorships and Memorial Scholarship
Donations made in memory of members enables BGSC to offer sponsorships for 4-H
Open to youth included in family memberships or with individual junior memberships.
The Farm at Prophetstown Country Fair Days
Battle Ground Saddle Club helps at this event each fall to present a breed demo as a community outreach effort. Equines of various breeds are housed in the barn during the day with members available to answer questions. In a one-hour demo on the grounds, members present their equines and share the "specialness" of their breed.
Kentucky Derby
Club members celebrated the 147th running of the Kentucky Derby while riding at Land Between the Lakes near the Kentucky / Tennessee state line. There are already plans to do the same for the 148th running.
Parades
BGSC participates in community parades as opportunities arise, including the annual Lafayette Christmas parade, annual Delphi 4th of July parade, annual Flora Christmas parade, annual Delphi Christmas parade and annual Dan Patch parade in Oxford, Indiana.
